PDA PTimeline

The first ever association was formed in the early 50's due to the sincere efforts of (late) Dr. Hasan Raza Shah, the Principal of de'Montmorency College of Dentistry.

The hibernation period. Unfortunately this period was a prolonged one and PDA slept for 20 years.

Early 1970's
A few concerned dentists reactivated the Association in the historic city of Lahore. Elections were held and the PDA was once again revived by Dr. Zia, Dr. Aslam Chaudhry and Dr. Rafiq Chatta in the front line.

Mid 1970's
Seminars and lectures were held in Karachi and Lahore and renowned teachers like Prof. Duckworth, Dr. Straughn and Dr.Zulqarnain were invited from abroad and dentists in Pakistan benefited from their knowledge.

The first dental conference was held in Pakistan. Dr. M.Z.K Niazi was the convener of the conference.

Due to the sheer hard work of a handful of dentists in Karachi, the first International Dental Conference was staged. The Second International Conference: the credit for this goes to Gen. Ata-ur-Rehman and the Armed Forces Institute of Dentistry. It was during this conference that the Central Representative body was formed. Dr. Arif Raza, Dr. Innayat Ullah and Dr. Azmat Khan comprised the election commission.

The third International Dental Conference was inaugurated in Karachi due to the hard work of elected PDA under Dr. Khalid Mansoor.

 1990's- 2000:

The fourth International Dental Conference was held in Lahore.

The fifth International Dental Conference was held in November 1996.
